CCSS System Overview

The card cutting, slitting and sorting (CCSS) machine is part of a medical device production line which runs for extended periods of time creating diabetic test strips. All of the component motors and sensors on the machine are connected to a PLC which is linked to a PC running Aitken Scientific's control software.

As the machine processes batches of cards, cutting, slitting, validating and sorting them, the software analyses the results from each stage controlling the machinery and collecting information for each batch. This information is stored and tracked using a database and an audit trail is maintained for every operation that occurs.

By using our software module, A-S Login, we were able to make the software fully 21 CFR Part 11 compliant, and suitable for an FDA regulated environment.
